This is a premium Clifton No. 5 Bench Plane (Model C5), renowned for its precision engineering and superior craftsmanship. It functions as an excellent Jack plane, ideal for fine woodworking tasks.
Premium Construction Details:
• Body & Frog: Machined from grey cast iron with fully ground sides and sole, based on the robust BEDROCK design.
• Handle/Knob: Carefully shaped and sealed Walnut wood.
• Cutting Iron: Made from cryogenically treated 01 steel (hardened to 60-62 Rockwell C), ensuring exceptional durability. The iron is 0.120″ thick.
• Mechanism: Features a rigid clamping system, polished brass components, and adjustable features for fine mouth control.

The BEDROCK design ensures absolute stability, allowing the cutting iron to advance with minimal resistance, enabling the removal of the finest shavings even on challenging timbers.
